Privacy Policy
How CHIPR LUX collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use chiprlux.com, our instant estimate tool, and our permanent roofline lighting services.
Chipr Lux, LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), doing business as CHIPR LUX, values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit chiprlux.com (the "Site"), use our instant estimate tool, request an estimate, receive our permanent roofline lighting services, or opt in to receive communications from us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you use our instant estimate tool, estimate form, contact form, or call or text us, we may collect:
- First name and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Street address of the property to be serviced
- Message content and any project details you share with us
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URLs, and approximate location derived from IP address. See Cookies & Analytics below.
Information from service delivery. If you become a customer, we collect information needed to schedule, perform, invoice, and warranty your installation — such as appointment details, roofline measurements, project photos, and payment records.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Prepare and deliver your lighting estimate and night render
- Respond to your inquiries and communicate about your project
- Schedule lighting installation consultations, on-site assessments, confirmation visits, and installations
- Process payments and, where applicable, connect you with financing options
- Provide warranty service and customer support
- Provide project scheduling and installation status updates
- Send estimates and invoice notifications
- Send service-related communications (appointment confirmations, reminders, follow-ups), including non-marketing text messages if you opt in
- Send promotional offers and new service announcements if you opt in to marketing communications
- Improve our Site, estimate tool, and services
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not use your information for unrelated third-party marketing, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. SMS / Text Messaging Consent
If you consent to receive SMS messages from Chipr Lux, LLC, you may receive messages in the categories you select. Marketing and non-marketing text message consent are separate, optional choices. Neither checkbox is pre-checked. Supplying a phone number or submitting a form does not by itself give SMS consent, and you may submit a form with both checkboxes unchecked.
- Non-marketing messages: appointment confirmations and reminders, service scheduling updates, lighting installation and project status updates, estimate follow-ups, invoice notifications, and customer support responses.
- Marketing messages, if you opt in: promotional offers, new service announcements, lighting installation specials, and company updates.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. For the full SMS program terms, including message frequency, see our Terms of Service.
- Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, we will send one final message confirming your opt-out and will not send further texts unless you re-subscribe.
- Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details in Contact Us below.
- Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. You may contact us by phone or email instead.
No mobile information will be shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, CRM platforms, and messaging providers, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Home Address & Satellite Imagery
When you submit your street address through our estimate tool, we use publicly available satellite, aerial, and street-level imagery from third-party mapping providers to measure your roofline and generate a lighting estimate. This process may involve:
- Retrieving imagery of your property address from third-party mapping providers
- Generating a visual mockup ("night render") of permanent roofline lighting on your home using that imagery
- Storing your address, measurements, and estimate data to prepare, schedule, and fulfill your project
We do not sell or share your address or home imagery with third parties for marketing purposes, and we retain imagery-derived data only as long as needed for your estimate and any resulting project.
5. Cookies & Analytics
Analytics and masked session recording permissions are on by default for new visitors. Existing declines and opt-outs remain respected. Turn the Website analytics switch off to stop both, or on to explicitly restore both permissions. The switch remains available in the footer of our website and standalone estimate tool. Tracking choices are separate from SMS permissions and do not affect your estimate.
When released and permitted, Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager measures page visits and customer journey events, such as estimate progress and successfully saved requests. Our optional Umami analytics and internal aggregate reports follow the same choice. We do not send names, contact information, property addresses, precise coordinates, selected dates, photos, or lead identifiers in these analytics events. Only approved campaign categories are retained for attribution.
Optional session replay. Once approved for release and permitted by your tracking preference, Microsoft Clarity masked session recordings on our marketing website and standalone estimate tool may be used for educational/testing and usability review. You can turn tracking off at any time.
Strict masking is required before recording is released. Masking may omit sensitive parts of a page, including form content, property information and imagery; unsafe sessions may be skipped entirely rather than recorded. Masking is not a guarantee of anonymization. Microsoft may receive standard technical and transport metadata, such as IP address, browser and device information, when recordings are enabled. We do not use these recordings for advertising or share Google Analytics identifiers with Clarity.
Google analytics and Clarity remain release-gated pending external checks, including the owner's masking checks and live verification for Clarity. An on preference does not mean these vendors are currently collecting data. Our website loader controls Clarity, and the old Google Tag Manager Clarity tag remains paused. Advertising consent remains denied.
We remember your choices in browser storage, with a first-party preference cookie as a fallback. Saved opt-outs do not expire within our application; clearing or restricting browser storage can prevent a choice from being remembered. If both storage methods are unavailable, a choice lasts only for the current page session. Turning tracking off stops future collection; it does not erase previously received reports or recordings. Browser blockers, masking safeguards, your choices and interrupted connections can prevent measurement or recording.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. The following sharing categories apply subject to the SMS non-sharing clause above. Mobile information is excluded from marketing or promotional sharing, and text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all other use case categories as stated in that clause.
- Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf — including our field service management and CRM platform (such as Jobber), scheduling and dispatch tools, messaging and email providers, mapping/imagery providers, payment processors, and website hosting/analytics providers. These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services on our behalf and are obligated to protect it. SMS-related sharing remains subject to the non-sharing clause above.
- Financing partners. If you choose to pursue financing, with the financing provider you select, at your direction.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CHIPR LUX, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the successor to honor this policy or notify you of changes.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy: estimate and inquiry data for as long as needed to serve your request; customer and project records for the duration of the customer relationship and warranty period; and financial records as required by tax and accounting law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information — including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access controls limiting data to personnel who need it, and reputable third-party platforms with their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (including U.S. state privacy laws such as the Utah Consumer Privacy Act) to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Opt out of text messages (reply STOP) or marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link) at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Contact Us. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated policy here. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or communicated directly where required by law. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
